Hi everyone
My TT Go 1005 says I am in another street rather than the one I am in.
I had a TT GO 720 before and some times it would make this mistake thou not as much as this new one.
Any Ideas, should I contact TomTom? |

If it's doing it all the time then there may be an issue but it's most likely just a glitch. Have you tried rebooting? _________________ Darren Griffin |

For a full reboot (no settings lost) hold power down until you hear the TomTom drums, takes about 15-20sec. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I've always found London to be a bad area with tall buildings + smog etc ,although gps has come leaps and bounds since it's beginnings there is bound to be the odd day when things don't go right and I always found a reboot mostly solved the problem _________________ TomTom 5001 |

I just don't know how people get by in London. The problem was explained to me as signal bounce - i.e. the satellite signal is picked up by reflection from some tall building, so the device thinks it's in the next street. It happens to me all most times when I go to London - next street, change of direction, frightens the living daylights out of me - just what am I supposed to do when the satnav says I'm in need of doing a turn to get back on route when I haven't gone off route in the first place?
Anyway, my solution is to keep using more than one satnav. I have three on the go when I'm in London. My main one now is built in Carminat on 3D view, which seems to hold signal best of all through the vehicle aerial, with a GO520T one side and a GO550 Live the other, both on 2D view. Between them I usually manage to have at least one steady, not turning turtle and I can compare them all for looking ahead in case they do start swinging around. Before you ask, it only takes a very quick glance! _________________ Dennis

Andy & Dennis thanks for your replies.
Luckily enough I don't need it to navigate me around central London mainly use it for the traffic and also live services Once outside central London the sat nav for me is a must . It just looks crazy when its jumping all over the show and also being a Taxi driver I like to have a good moan |

You do realise that you've just blown any chance you had for a decent tip, apart from the reboot tip of course |
