Just dusted my 910 off for my wife to use in the car, she says the screen seems a bit slow and jerky!

If i remove the maps apart from the UK ones (we have everything backed up) would this speed things along?

No, removing the other maps from the device won't have any bearing on screen refresh rate.
I would look at how many POI files you have got enabled to show on the map as this can have a direct effect on screen refresh rate - Mike

i asked the same question a couple of years ago as my 910 was always slow and jerky from new. i tried everything mike suggested and it was still the same especially around london with its many twists and turns but noting i tried helped.
i then bought a 930 which has exactly the same problem.

question: what car do you or your wife drive as ive had 2 new bmw's since getting both TT's and have always wondered if there could be something in the glass thats slowing the signal getting through.

The 910 has a SirfIII chip, so should have no trouble with an athermic screen.

See Here.

You could try turning off 'Show street names', as this seems to slow down instructions if there are a lot of roads showing.
