How can this be ?

I've had to send back my GO530 for repairs so I got out my old GO500.

I tried to pair it with my phone yesterday but I found some features (ie dialling out) were not available.

Today, thinking the 500 must be corrupted I formatted it and reinstalled a backup but it shows the phone I tried to pair with yesterday.
That phone was never connected to the device when that backup was made, and the card has been formatted.
How can it be that it shows that phone ?

BTW I deleted the entry for the phone and paired it again, this time it seems to work OK.

it depends on where the pairing data is stored - if it is on the internal drive then it should disappear, but if it is stored in some other non-volatile memory (the area clear-flash wipes?) then it would survive format

Always worth doing a reset to factory settings, a power button or pinhole reset and a clear flash after doing a format and reload from backup - then you know you are starting from a completely 'clean' device.
