Is there not a preference called 'voice preference' or something like that?
And, when connected to Home, the option to Add Voices/Maps --- Voices should be available (in order to download other voices for the unit). _________________ David |

There should be several voices on the unit already, both "recorded" and "computer" (i.e text-to-speech, so they read out street names).
As dnh says, go to the "Change preferences" menu and scroll through looking for "change voice"
It's on page 54 of the user manual ( downoadable HERE. |

Apologies, you're quite right!
I got carried away when I downloaded the manual to remind myself and it was the same manual for the whole range. |
