usin tom tom 3 in france....HELP

I have tom tom navigator 3 but how o I plan a route from Calais to Toulouse without the route going on toll roads please can anyone help me we are going on the 12th june.

do you have the french maps or the major routes?

If you have the major routes I would guess that it wouldn't be practical but if you have the detailed maps then reduce the default speed on the motorways to something well below the A roads setting - this should make tomtom think that the minor roads would be the best route - but may lead to some very strange routing!

Alternatively when you get to calais and it calculates your route exclude the first toll road you want to miss (I guess you would use the toll road to Paris out of Calais) and it will plot an alternative route then as you approach the next toll road avoid this and so on.

As an aside the tolls to Toulouse aren't very expensive (in total no more than £30 in 2003) and the time saving is certainly worth it especially from south of Paris to south of Cahors.
