TomTom 530T USB device not recognised - Unknown device

No longer get the option to connect to computer when connecting my TomTom 530T via USB. TomTom turns on normally - and works normally - but does not give me the option to connect to computer for updating. Just get an error message saying USB device not recognised. Using XP.

Any help to solve this would be appreciated

Try a pin reset on the 530. That often rectifies the problem.

Yes soft pin reset will do it, but after the reset turn your device off, then on again, before connecting to computer. Also restart your computer.
