hi there everyone is anyone else having trouble with the go 950 live and tomtom themselves ?
my problems are as follows
after 6 months my go 950 battery died and would not last more than ten seconds before switching off ,.
it went to Regensis in Fife and they issued a new unit.
the new unit arrived , but when i tried to connect it to 3 different computers it always came up with unrecognised device, when i tried to input my user name and password the unit would wait for a few seconds and either say there was a tomtom server problem or just flash up operation cancelled.
i contacted tomtom customer support and went through the steps clear flash etc ( i also have a 920 under a different account and log on and that operates perfectly on the same machine) but still the same problem still happens when i connect the 950 .
After another Job number was issued it went back to the repair centre ,however i have just recieved the same unit back with the letter saying they could not find anything wrong , i agree the unit works and navigates but it is no use if i cannot use my subscription or update the unit in any way .
my belief is the repair company have just switched the unit on but not tried to connect it to a computer or access the live services .
I checked in the menu that the sim is activated I also confirmed with Tomtom that the new unit they supplied would be updated to my account in order that my 22 months subscripition to services would be applicable to that unit .
this has now went on for 2 months and i feel i am no further forward , has anyone had a similar experience

thanks Greg

It might not be the device preventing connection to the PC, it could be the home dock at fault?

Try using the car dock connected to the PC via a Mini USB lead, does the PC see the unit this way? - Mike

Mike your a genius , that appears to have fixed things , ive ordered a new usb connector , just shows that you shouldn't believe the repair company's actually check all the accessories they are given
