I have a Nuvi 775T with a Lifetime subscription for both North America and European Maps.

Looking at the Map Info screen in the Satnav it has the following

CN North America NT 2011.20 3D
[1] CN North America NT 2011.20 US & Canada 3D
[2] CN Europe NT2011.20 3D
CN Europe NT 2011.10
[1] Southampton, England, Reading, England
CN North America NT 2011.20
[1] US & Canada
CN Europe NT 2011.20
[1] All

All of the check boxes are ticked.

I am missing something or do I have too much installed, what does the Southampton bit imply - when I downloaded and installed the latest set of NA and European maps I had the map installed on the laptop so I can do a reinstall if necessary.

Thanks for any information on what the above information implies.

As you've noted, there's nothing to be gained by having the (older) "Southampton,Reading" map, as the area is already covered by the (newer) "CN Europe NT 2011.20 (All)".

My guess is that you'll find a GMAPSUPP.IMG on there that contains the offending data. Try renaming it to something else (eg GMAPSUPP.OLD) and see if Southampton disappears from the list. If it does, you can delete it.

Perhaps Southampton is the pedestrian mapping?

CN = CityNavigator which are the normal road maps.

Hmm, having said that, there are no cityXplorer maps for Southampton...

http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/cache/offonce/us/maps/cityxplorer/cityxeurope;jsessionid=B216B1258647B73B5B25B0D13CE12D76

Garmin UK are based in Southampton - I wonder if local maps have been added at some point for a demonstration?! Was the device bought new or ex-display etc?

I'd go for Phil's suggestion above!

Thanks for all your comments. The device was bought new a year ago and has all the European maps added /updated under the Lifetime scheme since late last year. The North America maps have been lifetime updated since July time frame.

The Southampton entry appeared after the latest European update came through in August. I downloaded the map and installed it, the new map is visible on the computer using BaseCamp but the reference to Southampton etc does not appear as a selectable map

I followed the suggestion re renaming GMAPSUPP.IMG file to .old and the Soton entry disappeared - so I removed it from the Satnav

I can still see the streets in Southampton and Reading on the map
I kept a copy of the file on the computer just in case it is needed or if I can find a way in Basecamp of looking at it.

Again thanks for your comments

In that case you should also save the GMAPSUPP.UNL file that goes with it.
