Can someone please advise on a problem I am having with this 740 I have owned for 2 years with no problems?
Today, my unit just froze on the splash screen. I held down the on off button for a minute but it just stayed on. In desperation I left it in my car and I let the battery fully discharge.
I then turned it on whilst being connected to the car charger and I heard the drums and the yellow progress bar appeared.
It took 2 mins to find the signal and then worked ok for my next 11 mile jorney but when I came to turn off, it would not. Touching the screen did nothing.
I allowed it to discharge again and it booted up on switch on. it is now generally sluggish and flags up every few minutes saying "Cannot store map changes. File access denied" or something like that.
Does anyone have any suggestions please?
Thanks very much. |

Have you got a Windows Explorer back up of the device??
If so format the unit (slow not the Quick format option) then copy the back up to the device using Windows Explorer.
If you don't have a back up consider making one straight away then we can advise further actions - Mike |

Thank you very much for your replies...
I have restored my device and it now appears to be fine.
I will post again if there are any more problems.
Thanks... |
