I dug out my wife's old i3 yesterday to see if it still works (she has been using my old TomTom One for some time). When I switch it on it advises me that I need new maps (it has v9) but when I connect it up to the Garmin update site it tells me that no maps are available. Has the i3 been officially abandoned?

The i3 does seem no longer to be supported by Garmin. Hence there is no legitimate way to update the maps to the latest 2010.31 versions. |

I Have tried the Garmin website also with no luck. My last update is version 3.40 and downloaded on Jan 23 2008. Subsequent attempts are answered with "you have the latest software".
Does anyone know if other makes of GPS software is compatable with the i3 ? and could be downloaded to it. This way up to date maps would be available? |

HI sproot,
Thanks for posting your reply to the question of how to update the i3 roadmaps. You have renewed my interest in doing this as I simply assumed that this good little satnav was to remain as history. You must have a real magic-wand.
I would love to hear more about how you have used another sim card and google? My best wishes to you.
Looking forward to hearing from you, Chris. |
