tomtom 550 or Garmin 1490?

Hi

I currently have a tomtom 520 which is in need or replacing - actually, I just fancy a new unit!

The 520 has been good but the bluetooth has been the biggest let down. Often, during a call it will lock up and although the navigation continues to work the unit make a looping noise which requires a reset.

So, the choice is the tomtom 550 or the garmin 1490.

I used a friends 1490 today and was quite impressed. Obviously it would take a little getting used to but I am after advice from existing users.

I would be more than happy with the more famliar tomtom but is the awful bluetooth sorted?

i have had 550 two months now and find it great. bluetooth works good too on my n95. before that tt700, before that tt910(crap) before that garmins. does that answer your question.
