tom tom 510 problems

My partner has a tom tom go 510. he let the battery run completeley flat.

I have had the battery on charge for nearly 48 hours. this morning i managed to get to turn on after resetting it and it took some downloads. 1st it installed some firmware and said it was auto turning off. it did this and did not turn back on. so i disconnected it and reset again. about 10 mins later it turned on again but know it keeps turning off when i can eventully get it to turn on? is there something else i can do or is this a battery issues?

Welcome to the forum, first thing to try is reset the device using a pin in the reset hole which is on the base of the device next to the electrical multiway connector - you won't lose any settings doing this.

The battery could be on its last legs but if its plugged in to the mains charger AND the PC it should stay on for updates, onther option is to pop the SD card out and use it fitted in a card reader - Mike
