tomtom one v1 + start v1 route differences

i have a one v1 with latest western european and uk maps and a start v1 with latest uk maps.
if i set them both to go from home to an address in the south they both provide a different route.
the start takes me via the m6 toll the one doesn't.
the home location is the same and the one is set to fastest route planning with never avoid toll roads selected.
i have also changed the map on the one to the uk selection and the same happens.
any ideas why ??

Start uses IQ Routes-2 while the original One doesn't have this capability which probably explains the routing differences - Mike
