Hi there all I Just got myself the Hp 2210 with the tomtom 3 wired. So loading all the maps and post codes etc I need a memory card. I was hoping that I could use the Olympus 128 MB XD Picture Card as my Fuji camera takes this card and maybe I could kill 2 birds with one stone. Anyone tell me if this is card is compatable?

Cheers Guys

Tracey

Nope. Sorry... But you need either SD or CF cards . I'd suggest CF since it is more stable, faster, and (at current) still cheaper for the same capacity. Speaking of capacity - get a card as big as your budget allows, but at least 256 MB.

Your Pocket PC will not take an XD card. It has an SDIO slot (which can take either SD or MMC cards) and a CompactFlash slot (which can take CompactFlash cards).

You can get an adapter that allows you to use an XD card in a CompactFlash slot, but that can't be recommended for map storage (I'd only use such an adapter to read your pictures in your Pocket PC on the move - for example, if you wanted to email them to someone). The adapter is also very expensive for what it is - it's around 40 pounds.

I suggest you buy a 256MB SD card for your iPAQ. 128MB is a little tight for TomTom Navigator 3. You need to be a little careful when buying SD cards, as Sandisk cards (which many brands rebadge) can cause all sorts of strange problems.

One good option would be the 256MB SimpleTech ProX SD card offered by clove.co.uk. SimpleTech seem to use only problem free cards. You can find that card here (click the smaller word) - it's only two or three pounds more than the XD card adapter!

No difference at all, usually you can find large price differences between branded SD cards and lesser known makes but the only advice I can offer is to avoid 'Sandisk' branded SD cards as these have a very poor reputation and appear to be the cause of many problems.

You may also want to check prices at www.valueflash.co.uk .

You'd have to email ValueFlash to find out if they can tell you what manufacturer the Dane-Elec card is. There's a chance it may be rebadged Sandisk or another low quality manufacturer. If you email ValueFlash Sales and tell them you're after an SD card made by Panasonic for your iPAQ, they will probably be able to help.

I gave you the link to the SimpleTech card at clove.co.uk that you linked yourself - that is almost certainly rebadged Panasonic which would be a good buy.
