Need help:Configuration TomTom (wired version) and Ipac2210

I am a brandnew owner of the bundle (2210 and GPS with Tomtom-software) and I start wondering if I am just to blind or ...whatever.. ;)

So it would be great, if you could help me with my problems:

1. Installed Tomtom-software (version 3); no problems
2. Connected the Ipac 2210 with the GPS - so far, so good
3. Tried to establish a connection between GPS and Ipac.. waiting... nothing happens Crying or Very sad

Ther is no sign on the GPS-screen that a connection has been established

So, what did I wrong?

I have to stress, I did not connect the power supply (cigarette lighter device-something (omg, my English is getting worse))

My settings:
a) TomTom Navigator GPS
b) using serial cable on Com1

Do I have to change the settings?
Do I have to connect to the external power-supply?

You have to connect the external power supply - without it, the GPS hardware isn't powered.

If you bought the TomTom wired GPS (or are using another SiRF based wired GPS) your settings are correct.
