Some time ago, due to something else on my computer I had to uninstall TT HOME. I had not realised that when I reinstalled it and subsequently updated it to the latest version, the associated files/Folders had been duplicated i.e. C:\Documents and Settings\XXXXX\My Documents\TomTom\HOME\Download etc..
I am juist trying to download and install my latest map for one of my devices and HOME cannot find it.
Will it cause difficulties if I just delete the two folders TT/HOME/xxx etc and perhaps then reinstall HOME and let it create its folders again or even just create new folders myself? I presume I will lose any backups saved via HOME?
I am perfectly capable of updating the Map via Win Explorer but I need to try the TT method just to see that it works. _________________ Gee-Pee

In the settings section on Home, it will say where the folders are that it's currently using for downloads etc. Whatever map etc you downloaded via Home should be under that folder name.
I'm not sure but it may be that different users on the PC have different personal folders in Home as well. _________________ Gerry

Yes, knew that. That's where I went wrong, in that I put the new map into the (what I thought was) the appropriate folder. The HOME decided to offer me an older map still stored in the other Home folder. Confusing or what

Just checked that out and for the record, when I installed different devices, the same folders were offered for Downloads, Backups, Storage etc. So the danger here is that a BackUp of (say) my One IQ would get overwritten by a BackUp of my Go730 etc. However, HOME does say that the folders can be changed. So I guess I should ensure that each time I want to use one of these services, I should change the destination.
I also noticed on the HOME/Preferences/Folders screen there is a tick box which says "Move the Current Content to a new folder". Now what the *%&$ does that do ?
I think I will just note the contents of all of the folders, save them to a new single set, then delete all the old ones. _________________ Gee-Pee
