Nuvi 660 Speed Camera Confusion

I bought my nuvi 660 (whole of Western Europe) in June 2007. Apart from registering the unit I don't remember activating any safety camera subscription, but I've been receiving camera alerts from day one. I read with interest someone's post about the speed camera files - they asked if the filename *CyclopsSample* suggested that it didn't contain all known cameras. I checked my nuvi's filesystem and indeed, my files are named

BeluxCyclopsSample_010207.gpi
FranceCyclopsSample_010207.gpi
NethCyclopsSample_010207.gpi
SpainCyclopsSample_010207.gpi
UKCyclopsSample_010207.gpi

So I go on to MyGarmin and activate the 30-day camera trial subscription for France (didn't even think it would work, but it did). A couple of things susrpised me
1. the France camera file I downloaded is still called FranceCyclopsSample_010207.gpi, which implies (if the last 6 digits represent a date) it's quite old. There's another file now called FranceCyclopsSample_010207.unl.
2. the file still has "Sample" in the name.

I'm slightly confused to say the least. As I said, I've always received camera alerts - in France, UK, Netherlands and Belgium.

Can anyone explain what's going on?

To answer my own question - I know a little more about this now. When I subscribed to the France speed camera trial, I expected it to download a new file, either named FranceCyclops.gpi or FranceCyclopsSample_*.gpi, where * is a more recent date than my original sample.

However, there's no such filename, it's still called FranceCyclopsSample_010207.gpi. But when I looked inside the file (it's binary but there's some readable text at the start), it mentioned Nov 5 2009. So it appears as if it's not the same file after all even though the name's the same. Hmmm.
