Navigon Reburbished models without paperwork re: Serial #'s

Does anyone out there know how to get a serial number if it is not included in the box on reburbished gps units. I got one (an 8100T) from Warehouse Deals, Inc, that did not have a guide (I downloaded one), registration info, serial # and a sticker to id the product (I got the product ID off of running software). I've had no luck with the Navigon Co because they are robotic in answering ques on a systematic nature, so they don't listen to real questions. I looked in the device's menu and even via my pc connection to the device, but there is no indication of serial #'s there. I wished that there was a way. I have to have a serial # in order to together w/product ID sign up for fresh maps. Without it, I have a stale unit. It is too bad that the gps unit does not have the serial # imprinted on it. Navigon should have thought about this, otherwise it is a potential of theft taking other people's opportunity to update their maps. The serial # supposedly were in the paperwork that comes with the unit, which was missing. Do you think that whoever previously bought my unit stole it for their gain (by removing the info from the box) and returning it for the next buyer to luck out (that's me). If anyone knows how I can get my rightful serial number, let me know. Thanks a bunch, I really would like to register the thing (gps). Rolling Eyes

If the model is the same as the UK 8110 model I believe the serial number is behind the mounting plate.
Take a look on the International site for the 8110 manual and I'm certain it explains how to take off the back to view the serial number.
However in all the time I have owned my 8110 I have never had any need to find the serial number for the box.
