Dear all,

I've got a problem and hope that you can help me solve it. My Haicom 204E PS/2 GPS-mouse uses COM1 and so does my GPRS-card from Audiovox (RTM8000). When I soft-reset my Ipaq H2210, the GPRS card demands the COM1 port so that my GPS-program of TomTom doesn't work.

Does anybody know how to solve this? Maybe by altering the registry? I want to use both devices on the road, so unplugging the Compact Flash GPRS card is not an option.

Thanks in advance! Thumbs Up

I'm very surprised at any CompactFlash card deciding to take over COM1: - as that is the serial port on most Pocket PCs.

Unfortunately I don't know how to solve this problem, but I suggest that the best way ahead is to investigate whether there's a way to get the Audiovox card to operate on a different COM port. You could try searching through the registry to see if changing a value there changes the port used.

You could certainly try the latest Audiovox Windows Mobile 2003 drivers from here - the procedure outlined in the Word file in the driver Zip file may be of value, too - though as I haven't got one of these cards myself, I can't be sure.
