my satmap keeps locking up :( anyone had the same problem !

when i turn it on it runs fine for 5-10 mins the when i press one of the button usually create new route or zoom in and out of map its just locks up and to reset it i have to remove the battery its the same with the lipol and AA's ,i emailed satmap who said they would send me a sd card that would install the full system again to see if that sorts the problem.im just intersted to see if anyone else has had this problem

Howard,

You don't say if this is a recent problem in an older Satmap or in one you have just purchased.

The usual suggestion in matters like this is to make sure you have the latest software installed as the early models were renowned for freezing and locking up.

Like most users I suppose I have had the occasional lock up,even with the latest updates but nothing on a regular basis.

I am sure that Satmap will sort you out one way or another.

Yes, I have problems with the damn thing locking up (several times!), thank God I took my paper ordinance survey map with me! I phoned Satmap while I holiday they advised I need to connect it to the internet. Next time I climb Scafell I must remember to pack my laptop in my rucksack!!
