From the description both adverts are coresponding to the same device which does have the Live sevices - I would save some cash and go with the cheaper of the two - Mike |

TomTom's naming conventions for the various models is so confusing, that often retailers don't know what they are selling! (e.g. see the often-incorrect description labels in places like Currys and PC World).
Maybe the cheaper one was priced assuming it WASN'T the version with LIVE services?
If you know what you're doing, you can sometimes grab a bargain! |

FWIW, TomTom has now announced a similar entry level live device for North America, but calling it the TomTom XL 340s LIVE. No bluetooth or voice control, but otherwise pretty comparable to the current NA 740 for $100 less retail at $299. Model confusion indeed, with the XXL530/540 and and 325/325s also available soon to the US. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |

I got my new XL LIVE from Halfords last week and was £179.99 and that seems the cheapest around from what i can find. might be cheaper now right enough but Halfords have it in store so you can get it there and then instead of ordering it on line and awaiting delivery. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)
iphone (running all day, doesn't like it)
XL LIVE IQ Routes (Got stolen and miss it)

Beware, there are two different XL LIVE models in the UK - the 'standard' one is the XL LIVE with W&CE 2GB maps on it, this is the device featured on TTs website.
Halfords have (as an exclusive I believe) a XL LIVE with UK&ROI maps.
I couldn't work out why DennisN had 1.5GB ish of free space on his XL LIVE at first until I realised he had UK&ROI maps, not W&CE.
Might explain some difference in prices if you are comparing to the Halfords XL LIVE Regional model. |

The one i have and the only one on offer at the Halfords in my area (Clydebank) is the W+CE one. Never seen a regional one for sale in the shop for the XL.
EDIT:- This is the one that was £179.99 also so i wonder how much the regional one would be from Halfords _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

Don't think that deal lasted long as it is not on the halfords website anymore but i am sure it was £199.99 with an extra £20 off hence the price i paid. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

Just checked my reservation that i had with Halfords and it should have been the XL LIVE IQ Routes edition with UK and ROI mapping for £179.99 so i cant complain in getting the EU mapping one instead. . Sorry to all that were looking for this product but Halfords mistake is my gain. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)
