Kenwood DNX8220BT- Vehicle Cursors?

I've been updating the configuration on my 8220; latest Nav and Bluetooth firmware, POIs and speed cameras, background and vehicle cursors.

The firmware updates were easy enough and the speed camera update process is slicker now I've discovered Ash10's Camera Manager.

The only thing I'm stuck on is the vehicle cursor. I've seen mention of using a USB cable to a laptop and mount as a storage device. Unfortunately getting the unit out to put the cable in would be a problem. In any case I've added a new vehicle cursor before without resorting to that method, I just can't remember how. I have a few I want to try, does anyone know how to update without a cable?
