RDS-TMC gets jammed driving across Germany

I travel across Europe frequently, so in April this year I treated my TomTom Go 910 to a RDS-TMC adapter

It worked really well all across the whole of Europe, but kept getting jammed in Germany and would no longer scan for radio stations carrying TMC data

A brief disconnect from the windscreen mount would start it going again for a time until it would jam again

Once out of Germany it worked faultlessly all the way to Slovakia.

On my return it worked perfectly across the whole of Europe apart from Germany again!


A few days ago I returned from another trip to Slovakia and the same thing happened travelling both ways through Germany.

On the outward bound journey my hard disk corrupted as I was entering Poland and my TMC was knackered for the rest of the journey (turned out that the gns folder had corrupted, god only knows why).

Whilst in Slovakia I formatted and completely reinstalled my 910 from a backup of its original software from when I purchased it (good job I took my laptop with me).

I applied all the updates and upgrades available for my unit.
I also upgraded to the latest maps and applied the Map Share updates.

I then shovelled back on all my POI’s and map configurations etc.

After a few hours I was back to square one again.

Whilst in Slovakia and Poland for the rest of my visit the TMC worked faultlessly

On driving back through Germany the TMC started to jam again

Has anyone got any ideas why this keeps happening?

Is it just my unit at fault or is it a know bug?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
