I have only just bought my Nuvi 660 and so far I have been able to sort out all my custom POIs into different categories and loaded them onto the Nuvi in several different gpi files. They are now accessible from the 660.

My current stumbling block is how I can add/amend POIs as I travel around using just the Nuvi.

I visit campsites for a guide and would like to add POIs, or amend the POIs, for the campsites as I visit them. So far I cannot see how this can be done.

The thought of reverting to amending the POIs on the netbook and then loading back onto the Nuvi almost daily fills me with dismay.

Also before I start on these visits I need to plan a suitable route. In the past, using TomTom, I used Autoroute and then built up an itn file on my MIO A201 running TomTom Navigator 6.

As the Nuvi does not have anything equivalent to the "Itinerary" TT6 I would like advice on how best to proceed?

To be honest it's the only way! You could put the new / updated locations in Favourites and then make the changes in one go when you get home.

Garmin call Itinerary's "Routes" and the 660 doesn't support them so as far as i know there isn't way to force a particular route except by making a POI file with way-points to "influence" the unit to go one way and use them as destinations.

Which Garmin or other make sat navs support "Routes"?

It seems that I have bought an inappropriate sat Nav.

The reason I bought it was tat OI had maps of New Zealand, a country I am visiting soon.
