Hi, HELP, I have just updated my maps on my streetpilot i3 with imgps2, and it has loaded fine but there is no search option to look for new addresses, any help will be wonderful.

IMG2GPS is a Windows GUI for the SendMap / Sendmap20 DOS application by gps_mapper.
It will transfer any Map file (.img format) to your Garmin GPS.
It will work for Garmin maps as well as home-made maps. |

Can you select the Garmin map in the i3's menus, or have you only loaded a none Garmin map.
I would think that a none Garmin map would not contain the address data needed to use the search function. Not sure what would happen if you selected the Garmin map in the i3's menu, then searched address to navigate to, then switched maps in the i3's menu 
What happens if you use this program to just load the original Garmin map, does the search work then. If not it would seem that the program cannot handle the address data or strips it away when loading it. |

pretty certain that SOME of the garmin maps don't do routing - eg the Metro Guide i'm sure did not have routing, just actual maps. maybe it was one of those maps?

You could be right MaFt
When you use Garmin's MapSource to load a road map, it can take ages to compile the index/address data before it transfers it to the device. |
