Hi,over the last 2 weeks my tomtom one v4 has been behaving oddly, dropping gps signal every few seconds, then would reconnect then totally screw up the directions, like taking a right turn on a motorway, when clearly i would be in the barrier, and not even directing me to the route i want to go.

Also the arrow on screen looses the road and runs along side the road even on old roads that have been there years.

I used it in london today and salisbury last week and did not get a gps signal for at least 25 miles after i departed my journey....i guess the direction as it left me stuck in centrallondon.
Sure tomtom paid the satellite bill,Laughing Out Loud!!

A friend also with the older tomtom one is getting the same probs in last 2 weeks also, but other mates Garmin Nuvi is fine in the same areas, anyone know whats causing this,i need this for work everyday...and its doing me head in.Mine is still under warranty....

Unfortunately there's usually no ONE cause for this...

It could be a hardware problem, it could be software issues or it can possibly be caused by a duff GPSQuickfix you've downloaded.

I've had the "running on a parallel road" problem occasionally three or four times in the past but not for quite a long time now.

I've also seen dramatic changes in signal strength when using different software versions.

First thing I would do is delete the contents of the "ephem" folder on your ONE if there is one.

If that doesn't cure it, do you have a backup you could revert to? If not, you could try reinstalling software.

If all else fails I guess it's a return under warranty.
