Tom Tom Navigator 5 maps on tom tom 710

Hi can any one tell me if you can use Tom Tom navigator 5 maps on tom tom 710 Confused

Can I copy from CD to the Sd card in 710 unit

Afraid not. The installation process 'locks' the map to a specific device. Even 2 devices of the same model can't share maps, letalone 2 devices of differing models.

Thanks guys reason for asking is that with the navigator 5 maps i had bigger range of european countries and was looking to select a couple purely for holidays if maps were out of date would not be a major problem!

I got one of my old French maps (6.75) to work on my Go530. When I put it on the 530, I was asked to activate it, I used the serial number in the box, the device code and it registered and activated on the TT web site just like it used to on the PDA. I only want this map as a backup in case I get any issues with the 940 in France.
