I have downloaded the above software to enable me to use my T.T. on the broads for checking my speed on the rivers. This works fine but it would be good if I could have a map of the rivers installed. The instructions do say that maps can be installed and gives some instructions as to how to do this but they go woosh over my head and I need instructions for dummies if that is possible

The term you may need know (for searching in forums or on the net) is map overlays.

It isn't a simple science though!

There is a help file on the TomTom website about creating them for use on the normal TT map display HERE (select "map overlays" in the menu on the left).
However, it looks like Off-road Navigator may use it's own maps...
According to the instructions HERE, they need to be a certain size and shape and to be put into the /offroad/maps directory.

There is a recent topic about a utility to help create map "tiles" from OS maps on another forum HERE which might help making what you need.
