It's from this forum that I found out about the wonder that is TTMaps, so thank you so much for that. I'm from Canada and recently I've begun to like going on day trip to somewhat remote parts, where there are little coverage of the small roads. But when I look at them in the google satellite pictures, I can sort of see them. So I went off to find a software that can download satellite maps and stitch them together for me to use with ttmaps.

SASPlanet (freeware) seemed to be the most promising because it could output in OziExplorer format, which is utterly perfect and just what I need. But I can't really figure out how to use SASPlanet. It's in Russian, which I don't understand.

Would anyone like to show me how to use it properly? What I thought I was trying: selected a polygonal area and asked it to download with zoom 17 in .map format. But after churning away for a few minutes (I selected a very small area) it just stopped and I didn't see anything in the folder I specified.

Would anyone be able to help me with this? I'm really lost and knowing how to use this would be awesome.

Thanks!

I know nothing of SASPlanet but I use Gmapmaker. Follow the link :http://www.mgmaps.com/news.php This will output in OZI format from a variety of sources. Also, (although it needs several steps) there is a big library of Canada maps athttp://www.geogratis.ca/geogratis/en/download/scanned.html. Having downloaded the image file as a .tif you need to extract the spacial information as a.tfw file (look for FWTOOLS LISTGEO) then use MAPC2MAPC http://www.the-thorns.org.uk/mapping to convert the .tfw to a .map for OZI
