Despite the recent launch of nav 7 by Tom Tom this will not be compatible with my IPAQ 4150 which runs Windows mobile 2003 SE. I still run Navigator 5 but with map 6.75 and have been for some time looking for a replacement to Tom Tom to run on my IPAQ. The choice is of course limited for an older PDA and I have narrowed this down to 2 possible choices being, Co-Pilot live 7 or Directions Navigator which has just released version 9. Does anyone have any experience of these 2 platforms and any recommendations which is the better.

Thanks for the info on Igo 8 I think I had seen this on their compatibility list somewhere but had dismissed this one as it appears to be so much more expensive then the others. I note you are using it - what is your opinion.

Can anyone give me their opinion on Co Pilot and Directions Navigator

Any help on this would be appreciated

I'm very satisfied with iGO. Originally I had TT3 then onto TT5.21 which took longer to get a lock and the athermic screen on my car gave a few problems, since changing to iGO everything runs much better.

iGO8 may be a little more expensive but if you take into account they often offer free map upgrades, or half price ones, the initial cost isn't that bad.

If you do go for iGO8 I'd recommend you get Linknet's Ultra Skin 6.0.21, which adds a few extras which you can read about HERE

PGPSW Cameras are easily added and with iGO they are directional, so no false warnings from the other side of the road, you get multi via's, with Linknet's Skin you get the usual Fastest - Shortest - Economical - Easy plus Scenic routes, block roads and several other things you can read about in the link I gave.

If you live anywhere in the north Kent area I'd be willing to meet up and give you a demo.

Lost_Property, thanks for the information this is very helpful. Do you know if Igo 8 will run with TomTom GPS receiver. The one I have is a first generation GPS which I originally purchased with TT3 and still works ok with TT5.2 or will I need to upgrade my GPS

Thanks for the offer for the demostration but I am not not in the North Kent area

Sorry but I have no idea, both my original Mio 168 and current Mio P350 are built in.

I'd guess your receiver receives SiRF 2 or 3 signals and converts to NMEA, if that's the case I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work, having said that maybe someone here knows better.

If Linknet reads this he may have a btter idea as he's pretty well up on iGO software.
