MAP display changes to simple one wide arrow ?

I have TT 6.010 running on IPAQ HX2750 windows mobile 2003 2nd edition.

Been running OK for some months, but last 2 weeks during normal use … i.e. in navigate mode … the screen changes from a map display to just a very basic large wide blue arrow up centre of screen … with correct destination arrival time, and next turn off … but no map detail.
Bottom of screen states ‘current location’, compass and for example road name …i.e. M4

It has not lost GPS signal, as this still shows as 5 sats for example.

This sometimes stays like this for several minutes before reverting to map display.

Is this a mode that can be turned off ? or a bug ?

I haven't got my TT with me at present but it sounds like you have the option to "turn off display above a certain speed" or similar set. When you travel above eg 50mph (whatever is set), the map disappears and is replaced by a BIG next turn arrow.

It's in preferences somewhere . Just untick the option and the map will stay on screen.
