When using POILoader it gives 3 options to load POI's. The main one of interest to me is the Mapsource one. I choose the Mapsouce button and give a file name as requested and after that nothing. I cannot see my POI's or the file anywhere.

Has anyone used this method and if so, can they walk me through the procedure please.

Thanks.

It creates the named .GPI file in C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Garmin\CustomPOIs (or its Vista equivalent).

Who knows what this was intended to do ... Mapsource does not read .GPI files Rolling Eyes

Interesting and thanks for that.

I would have thought I could 'see' the Camera POI's in Mapsource but obviously not.

You can the camera icons into Mapsource by several methods, some including using conversion programs.

However, the easiest seems to be to download the Garmin Other [ UK - Mapsource gdb format (iQue, 60cx etc)] Speed Camera files.

Go to http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Cameras as usual, select "Garmin Other" in SatNav System pulldown then Continue.
On the next page select "UK - Mapsource gdb format (iQue, 60cx etc)".

They aren't terribly useful in Mapsource however, the many large icons will smother a map unless you're zoomed right in and the camera names aren't intuitive.
