How do you edit a waypoint?

I select a waypoint in the waypoint menu of an existing route and press 'Edit'.

I choose 'Edit Location by Map', hit 'Edit' again and the map is shown.

I scroll around the map to the place where I want the selected waypoint to move to and press the joystick button, expecting the selected waypoint to move there.

However all that happens is a new waypoint is then added to the end of the route.

I cannot seem to find the correct combination of actions to actually move the existing waypoint.

Section 7.02e (Edit Waypoints) in the manual does not describe how to carry out this action.

Can anyone please explain how it should be done.

EDIT: Ah, OK. After further experimentation, I discovered that even though I selected a waypoint in the waypoint menu, I still need to select it again with the green cross cursor once I get to the map, enabling me to drag it into position.

From "Route edit";
Edit route map(edit);
zoom in on map to waypoint you want to move;
press the joystick down once (a pin appears);
then drag the waypoint to where you want it;
press the joystick down again (pin disappears).
