Has anyone seen/got one of these as the dates on TotalPDA, etc., seems to keep slipping back ? Does anyone know if it includes a connection to a GPRS phone to use the new traffic function in TT3 or an alternative mount that has the connection ?

Thanks

What are you expecting to see in the way of phone connectivity for GPRS? Almost invariably such connectivity will be via Bluetooth on most people's setups.

The serial support there is on these cradles is for a serial GPS, and almost certainly lacks the handshake lines that would be needed for a mobile phone. That said, most mobile phones don't support GPRS over a serial cable anyway, and those that do tend to need power for the interface hardware in the cable (which they derive from some otherwise unused pins) which might give rise to compatibility issues if some attempt was made to support serial cables to phones.

Trying to use infrared to connect to a phone would be rather tricky in-car.

Thanks. Shame my X3i doesn't have BT. Just leaves me needing a car cradle as the TomTom one doesn't seem to be available yet.
