Having had several false starts because I kept thinking that the unit was able to read uncompiled .csv files I have loaded the SD card with the camera database.

Comment 1 Using the card in place of loading onto the unit seems to slow the Map drawing down. Could someone comment.

Comment 2 I loaded I believed the 24X24 Icons but the local truvelo only shows as a grey dot. I was expecting an Icon. During my free 30 day test of the Garmin camera database the cameras could be seen not just a dot as you passed them.




General problem with the Garmin algorithms they do not seem to weight the Motorways much higher than the A roads in the UK so they tend to stick to a slightly shorter A route than a Motorway route eg a1 versus m1 from the point in Yorksire where it splits to Luton.

Point 2 - Grey dots. Caused by having too many (usually more than 256) categories of POI. Reduce the number of categories and they grey dots won't occur.
