S90i Zoom out with more detail?

If I'm planning a trip on my motorbike I like to take the backroads - to do this in a journey I have to set a multi stop trip and set a million detours.

To do that I have to look at the map click on it and select add to route. The problem is i have to be zoomed in a lot to see the smal roads and to scroll say 200 miles zoomed in like that is very difficult - so is there any way to see the smaller roads while zoomed out a bit more?
