Says on the website up to 5 hrs battery life - I get 90mins before the voice starts breaking up - 100 mins no sound at all .
When plugged in no probs is this battery life the norm.
cheers M

What you have found is about the norm, there is no way the device can sustain 5 hours on the battery in normal usage, I typically get 45 minutes with everything switched on. The unit is intended to be used with a car charger cable (supplied in the box) - Mike

Yeah, but it usually has some semblance of a factual basis. How do they possibly rationalise 45mins = 5hrs. By not actually putting the car in gear for the entire 5 hours?

Turn all add-ons off (eg BT), turn the screen illumination off, use 2D North Up map - that would get you a bit closer. They never said that you could actually use the device in order to get 5hrs Laughing

It's all academic anyway 'cos the battery life will deteriorate with time and - as mentioned before - they are designed to be used with power applied. As far as I can see the battery is there to allow you to create a route in the comfort of your home. I have used them to get me back to a carpark on foot when in a city I don't know well.

Sounds about the norm. I have a TT ONE v4 (EasyPort), lasts a bit over 2 hours on battery.
