Sony U50 Map Problem

Hi Guys

Im new to this superb forum and a bit of a Sat Nav novice.
Im really hoping somebody can help me with my problem as im going abroad in a fortnight.

Ive managed to install the France.zip map onto my Sony Nav U50 but because it is a later version (2007) which requires you to update the Nav Unit prior to installing the map, my original 2006 UK map no longer works.

Ive managed to start again with it by running the 1.06 update and restoring my UK maps etc but still no france map.

Can anybody point me to an updated UK map that i could install? i'd be happy to supply a copy of my France map in exchange. Alternatively would the France map install if i installed it manually rather than using the Sony supplied utility? is so how?. Any help would be much appreciated.

How about This Also as maps are locked to the device swapping maps or exchanging them isn't possible - Mike

Thanks for your reply Mike.
I was hoping for a £FOC solution.
I can get the France map working with no UK (the installer insists that it does an update on the unit first) and vice versa. I just need to know if there is a way of getting them to co-exist.

We see you’re using an ad-blocker. We’re fine with that and won’t stop you visiting the site.
