|
|
Hello to all
Can anyone explain this problem please.
My home postcode is PR3 1PL The Close, Wyre Vale Park, Garstang however whenever I try to navigate to this postcode then the 720 tries to take me to PR4 2UL The Close, Preston which is app.15 miles away in a village called Freckleton
On my 510 the postcode is identified correctly and I arrive at my home location.
Regards

Should it be a small "loop" of three roads with yours in the middle and Wyre Vale Park on either side?
If so, it is correct on v825 maps and v801 postcodes.
To check your postcodes Use Windows Explorer to browse to the "zip" folder on your Go. There will be a file called "Great_Britain.postal" in there and hopefully another one called "Great_BritainPostal.ver". Open that one with Notepad, and it will tell you the version number.
If it isn't v801, we can give you a link for the right file. |

This is where the error creeps in. As there are no numbers listed in the Postcode file for "The Close" you want, the software looks for the nearest within the Preston area. If you use 1-9 you will get another "The Close", and if you use 10-42 you will get yet another "The Close". You can check the house numbers with Browse Map.
These findings apply to the 801 Postcode File. _________________ Richard

Hi Oldboy
Absolutely spot on -- I was trying to enter a house number.
Is there still an advantage in upgrading to postcode ver 801 ?
If so How do I do it?
Many Thanks

It might have some Postcodes that are not present in the 701 file. You can get the UK 801 files Here.
Just Unzip the Download. Then the 2 files just replace the existing files in the zip Folder on the Device. You can always Backup the 701 files if you feel the need. _________________ Richard
