Congrats to Satmap on becoming the official SARDA GPS unit

Satmap has been named the official GPS and electronic map provider to the National Search And Rescue Dogs Association. This, and the fact that most (if not all?) Regional Mountain Rescue Teams now choose the A10 as their frontline navigation tool, speaks volumes about the worth of this unit!

Here's hoping they go from strength-to-strength and that the economic situation doesn't claim this plucky British start-up as a victim.

It's frustrating that Amazon reviews that feature most prominently date from Spring 2008 and are negative. I wonder how many people have been put off by them. There are a couple of response comments mentioning the mountain rescue users and the fact that the latest update has ironed out the issues, but they're not obvious. Amazon seem to be shooting themselves in the foot by allowing out of date reviews to be displayed as the most informative. Surely it's in their interests to prioritise up to date reviews - something one would reasonably expect with a high-tech product.

Satmap are clearly going from strength to strength despite the economic climate, no worries there. The languages available on the unit are increasing with each new release and I noticed on their website they were at a big show in Munich. Interesting.
