got a new tomtom one should it work out of the box ??

got a refurbished by tomtom one today and it doesn't seem to work, even with the car charger, the green light lights up but it won't switch on it's been charging for over 4 hrs now does this sound right or is it a duffer ?? it was fully sealed in a box and is factory refurbished didn't pay much for it but would have expected it to work ok, I had my tomtom go 300 for 6 yrs with no problems until battery started playing up
any ideas ??

Welcome to the forum, on the base of the device is a small hole marked "Reset" give that a prod with a paperclip or pin and see it makes any difference - Mike
