Hi,
when I go through a junction in coventry which is fitted with red light cameras the traffic light icons are shown but there is no audio warning at all.
These lights are situated at the junction of, Sewall Highway, Hipswell Highway and the Ansty rd and are facing East and West is this enough information for the data base to be checked, thank you.

Is this using the PGPSW database or someone else’s as there could be a difference in data, also it helps if you mention the device you are using Garmin/ TomTom etc as there are many permutations available - Mike |

Hi,
I am using the PGPSW database and I am using a Nuvi 310 and yes it does support MP3, thank you for replying. |

Which way did you travel through the junction?
Did you have a banner alert across the top of the screen?
Have you been through any other junctions with RedLight cameras? What happens there? |

East to West and West to East, I don't think there was a banner and yes other red light cameras give me a bing bong and then the voice warning |

Well they are present and correct in the database. Are you using the ASH10 Camera Manager out of interest? _________________ Darren Griffin |

No I do not use the ASH10 c/M and as I said the traffic light icons are there but no audio, could the wav file be missing, I am only bringing this to your attention because I know where they are but someone new to the area could be caught out. |

Not if you get warnings for other red light cameras _________________ Darren Griffin |

All I can say is what I have said is the truth, why it is doing it I have no idea. Thank you for your replies, I think it is better if we drop this thread, I apologise for wasting your time. |

You misunderstand, I don't doubt what you are saying! It needs investigating and I'm running a simulation along Ansty Road right now to see what is causing this.
Far from being a waste of our time, if there is an issue it needs resolving. I'll post back once I've tested some things... _________________ Darren Griffin |

Ok, I'm not getting any alerts travelling in either direction along Ansty Road for those two so I've raised it for investigation. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Just to confirm, it is a nuvi issue rather than a database or voices issue. The Redlight alerts all work fine on a TomTom.
Could it be something to do with the Fixed:40 and Mobile:40 cameras on either side of the junction? Maybe the Nuvi can only play one alert and they are clashing? |

Andy, you're quite right, this is an issue with Garmin devices rather than the database but we will see if we can identify what is the causal factor. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I believe that Andy is on the right lines and the close Proximity of the other cameras makes it look like the Redlight Camera doesn't give an audio alert. If you do a trip through the junction and do a left or right turn to avoid the other fixed and mobile cameras then the alert is there.
Also if i just load the Redlight cameras and run the route again the alert is there.
There are a few locations near me where this happens due to the close proximity of 2 fixed cameras in opposite directions and 2 mobile locations. |
