How can I turn down the speed camera voice volume please on my Nuvi 760? Which of the three volume settings does that volume? I still want to be able to hear the map directions. It is so loud, it rattles the unit.
Thanks
Doug

Not sure as i don't use the Voice Alert myself but Media would make sense although Navigation would too.....

Try turning one right down and running a test route past a camera...

Thanks Paul. I am unlucky enough to have only two cameras around me and I have to travel to get to them! I have turned down the Media to 40% so will report back. Navigation turns down the voice directions.

If you go to Tools, Settings, System you can turn the "GPS Simulator" on. This stops it using the Live Satalites and you can play with your hearts content .

Then go back to the "Where To?, View Map" screen and click View Map. Wipe your finger on the screen on an area not near the vehicle cursor and the map should go into 2D mode. You can now drag the map around to find a camera. Zoom in and click on a road about half a mile away and click "Set Loc." and it'll place you at that location. Then scroll across to a location just past the camera, click on the road in a place hit Go. It'll calculate the route between the 1st and 2nd locations and ask if you wish to simulate the Route. Say Yes, sit back watch and listen.

It appears Media doesn't affect the volume but Navigation does. However it doesn't reduce the voice volume!!

Adjusting the Master Volume reduces everything....

Personally i use the following settings under Tools, Settings, Volume.

Master: 80%
Navigation:80%
Media: 80%

This is loud enough without distorting the noise.

Alternatively look at using the Voice Alerts.

Paul, I am using voice alerts!
Help please? I downloaded the "ASH10 Camera Manager Version
UK (MPH) Voice Set" unrared them and put into the POI folder. I noticed there were the orignal MP3 files with the CSV speed camera files so I deleted these to just leave the ASH10 ones only. Now I have no sound on the simulated route at all. Should I have left both of these in the folder or are the ASH10 set not supposed to be loaded manually through POI Loader?
Thanks

Where did these original ones come from?

The Voice files are set up for a Speed Zoned database so you must make sure CM is set to Sort By Camera Type and Speed Limit on the Settings tab otherwise the voice files won't match the CSV files.

Are all your files in triplicates?

ie

GATSO.CSV
GATSO.BMP
GATSO.MP3
REDLIGHT.CSV
REDLIGHT.BMP
REDLIGHT.MP3
etc

Right Paul. I downloaded these first - Liz Whitaker UK (MPH) Voice Set with Chime before warning (inc 'pMobile alerts) and these made up the three files csv, bmp and MP3. I then decided these might be better - Ash10 Camera Manager version UK (MPH) Voice Set Voice only. I then downloaded these manually using POI Loader so I had the three original files together but also the additional ASH10 Camera voice files. I though it strange that the new ones (ASH10) did not overight the original ones.
I then thought that there should only set of MP3 files so deleted the original ones leaving only the ASH10 ones.
That I think is my problem. Now I have no sound. Are the ASH10 files not the same format as the others although both being MP3? or perhaps this "The Voice files are set up for a Speed Zoned database so you must make sure CM is set to Sort By Camera Type and Speed Limit on the Settings tab otherwise the voice files won't match the CSV files."
And no, they do not mix with the others i.e. three files together - I have two and a block of sound files at the top of the folder.

OK. You only need the Ash10 Camera Manager version if you are using Ash10 Camera Manager.

Delete all the mp3 and start again.

What version of the database are you using?

Single File, Speed Zoned or Consolidated?

Are you using Ash10s Camera Manager program?

Hi Paul,
Using Speed Zoned and am using the CM problem but have lots of choices greyed out, including the one you mentioned.
Will donate early next month but in the meantine, will delete all and put on the straightforward Liz Whitaker voice files.
Thanks for your help.
Doug

You shouldn't be downlaoding the database AND be using CM as CM downloads the database for you.....

Can you clarify you are doing one OR the other?

Until I make a donation, I will stop using CM and do it manually Paul. Once made so I get all the functions, I will then do it automatically. Few days when I get a bit of time.
Thanks again
Doug

Basiaclly if you unzip the Speed Zoned download and the Speed Zoned voice files into a folder that should work. With the CM you'll need the Ash10 Camera Manager files but it looks like you've worked it out already....

Let us know how you get along.
