Hi

I purchased the latest map deal (new! map and quarterly updates etc) back in October 2008 and im not sure if I have the current latest map
My 720 is showing Map as Western Europe v815.2003.
The reason I ask this is due to be constantly being taken down routes and turns that are years old!!

So I just checking that TT have sent me (for what I've paid for) their latest map promise.

Thanks

That is the current latest map for your device, you are using the "Fastest Route" option and not "Shortest Route" as this can make a considerable difference to the actual route offered by the device.
Where in the country are you located though if its so bad? - Mike

Hi

I am based in London and work manly central London.

I wasnt aware of the differance between 'fastest' and 'shortest'

I need to use the shortest and most direct route. Going the fastest way can add miles to any trip!

Cheers for the info

But the shortest route will send you down all sorts of minor roads/ alleys, some of which will have been closed to vehicle access. I would never use this mode for route planning.
Try Fastest and when you get the Route Summary screen if you don't like what it is offering add a "via" to the route to force it to go in the direction you really want - Mike
