I have just tried to install TT3 onto my wife'w iPaq 3630, after removing the previous version. When I start TomTom a screen tells me that I need to install maps. Checking the file explorer shows that the maps are on the storage card. What's going on?

I had the same problem when I first upgraded to TTN3. It seems the App needs to find a map within the PDA memory at first startup.

My workaround was to install a 16mb map into the PDA internal memory. This enabled TT3N to start up and go through all the wizards etc.

I then switched to and loaded up the map on the storage card. Then I deleted the 16mb map in the PDA RAM and all has been "fine" since.

HTH

Richard.

It looks like you're another victim of TomTom Wizard, which you can actually do without, even on the first run of Navigator 3.

There's more details about what I understand TomTom Wizard's behaviour to be, why I feel you can uninstall it quite happily, and some information how the TomTom Navigator menu item / shortcut behaves in this old post of mine (click the smaller words).
