Map update service from TT

Just bought a 740 and am being offered the 12 month map update service at £39.99 (supposedly 4 updates). Is this worth buying ?

That depends on how often you would normally update your maps. The price quoted is for 4 updates in around a year. You may or may not notice significant changes to the map in this period.

If you would normally update your maps at every opportunity, then this is a good price. If however, you are the sort of person who only updates maps when you realise they are very out of date, and may wait a long time between updates, then you might be buying something that you don't need.

As you have 740 you will also be using IQ Routes. I believe that each map update will also have more up to date IQ Routes Data. This is discussed here.

This may make regular map updates more worthwhile, but that may be debatable
