TOMTOM GO 920T

Hi just bouught a TOMTO GO 920T today and product code for activation of speed cameras is invalid and map up dates are out of date and they want to charge me 75.00 to update them even though it says free update to latest maps guranteed!!! anyone help please thanks.

Raise a ticket with customer services via the TomTom website.

Same thing happened to me - but with a bit of patience they sort it out - but it might take a week of backwards and forwards emails.

They'll want to see various proofs, including a digital picture of your latest map guarantee

They'll want a digital picture/copy of your receipt as proof of purchase date (still inside the 30 days for Latest Map Guarantee).

Just make sure you've clicked on Tools/Latest Map Guarantee in HOME and not on Update Maps.

I originally got caught out because the free map update service is hidden at the top of the page.

Ah got it thanks,doesnt update uk one though....also how can i get my free 30 days speed cameras as it wont accept the code i had with the unit? cheers

As I understand it, the 920 comes with Western Europe (or Central & Western Europe) & US and the LMG should update both, assuming you don't already have the latest version. I didn't think the 920 had a UK map.

As for activating the TomTom speed cameras I can't help you. When I bought my 720, I was already aware that they were totally inferior so I immediately deleted them and installed the PGPSW ones.

I had the very same problem when I bought my 920T. 6 emails, a copy of my receipt, 3 screen copy images of info from my 920 screen and 3 phone calls later I eventually spoke to a person at TT that had a brain and could understand words of more than one syllable. I eventually got it updated to the latest maps. Where TT get these people from is beyond me Rolling Eyes

Best of luck and stick at it an you will get it updated.

yeah i found the update and its updating now(takes about two hours) just wondering how to activate free speed cams for 30 days

With respect, forget the TT speed camera database and go and spend the recently reduced cost of £16.99 on the database on this site: it is FAR superior!!!! I think this is a generally held belief??
