From the PGPSW review here
Quote: | The Navigon 2100max already comes with a built-in TMC (traffic message channel) receiver. If you want to use it you can purchase an unlock code for 99 USD. This will give you a lifetime TMC subscription - better than all the other offers that expect you to renew your subscription yearly. |
Does the unit come with a years sub or do you have to pay that on top of the device cost? I looks to me like to have to pay on top....
Incidentally instructions for activating the Traffic are further down that page.... |

NAVIGON is pleased to announce that our Real-Time Traffic feature is now FREE to all 2100 max users, a $99.99 value.
To activate, simply go to www.navigonusa.com/registration and log into or open your MyNAVIGON account. Then register your 2100 max or 2120 max and we will guide you through the steps.

3) NAVIGON’s Lifetime Traffic℠ is currently available in 95 markets in the U.S. and Canada. The service is only available where Total Traffic Network RDS-TMC coverage exists. Coverage areas can expand or change without notice. Service is available for the life of the product as long as coverage exists.

Have you activated the Traffic as per the instructions above?

All the Free Traffic Offer seems to relate to the US market and not the UK, as far as i can see.

Please don't post 5 pages of sales pitch copy and pasted from the Navigon website and then just tell people to "have a look at this". At least have the courtesy to only paste the relevant bits.... |

You have to buy the Traffic Option either through fresh or off the website. It costs something like £30 from what I remember and once installed activates the traffic option you've found. You really need the car charger plugged in to get it to work well, but it doesn't need to be powered so can be tested outside the car. When it works you'll see it scanning FM frequency. |

Download NavigonFresh from the website, register your 2100 max using the software, login to the Navigon site with the details you registered your device with and then purchase the TMC it will then show up in the NavigonFresh software when you can then activate it on the 2100 max, same goes for Text2Speech, everything you purchase with the registration details shows up in the software. |
