|
|
Hi Guys,
my first post here...so hi!
i have a garmin nuvi 350 euro and i have, using the poi loader, a lot of poi's on my sat nav...however, it seems i have lost all my folder where i stored them on the computer. the poi loader software deletes all previous poi's and loads on the folder you choose. so if i want to update the speed cams...i lose all my other poi's. is there a way to get the poi's off the nuvi, or just add a folder of poi's to the current list? i hope i'm making sense...
cheers in advance
Ross. |

I think i know what you mean.
The trick is to have ONE folder on your PC with ALL your POIs and speed camera files in. Then you upload ALL the files with POILoader every time something changes.
As for the POIs you have loaded you can try and find a file on the unit called POI.GPI (usually in Garmin/poi folder) and see if a program like GPSBabel can convert it back to CSV, however if you have already sent another lot of POIs to the unit you'll have lost those POIs as POILoader wipes out ALL Custom POIs before loading any more. |

thanks for the quick reply. i do normally upload all my poi's to one folder, so updating it as you were...but i can't find this folder anywhere. i kept it on a portable hdd which got damaged...i thought i had everything backed up but apparently not.
when updating the poi's i know the favourites stay the same...so i guess what i could do is try and find all the poi's i downloaded off the net. this would be the only way i guess?? i have just noticed that this website has an awful lot of poi's on here
will just have to get looking i guess
cheers for the help mate! |

If you don't have the originals then i'm afraid re-downlaoding is the only way forward.... |
