The backup I had was 8.30 with 8.XX map ( prior to 8.15 ) thinking it was fine.

I am so fed up with the different buggs that are in the 8.30 app & or 8.15 map that I would like to go back to 8.010 app. and 8.xx map.

I downloaded the 8.010 app from Old Boys site but not quite sure how to install it to my unit. Is it just a matter of copying it to internal memory or is there something I need to do eg rename it etc. etc. or something ??

Have a read through This post which details what to do, the links in the thread are direct downloads from the server at TomTom, if you have the files from Richards web site they will work in the same way as detailed in the instructions - Mike

Mike, Garcor shows from his info that he has 8.15 maps installed. The link specifically says it won't work with 8.15 maps.

Garcor needs to move his 8.15 maps off his units, reinstall his earlier maps and THEN use the info in the link ... I think Confused

And if he has a backup with his previous "8.xx" maps, then that backup should also have the v8.15 software in it, so I'm not sure why he needs to download it from elsewhere.

If he doesn't have a backup of the previous map, he's stuck where he is anyway!

Thanks Mike that is exactly what I wanted to do .
I was thinking my backup was app 8.15 and my map was 8.10 but
it so happened that it was App 8.010 (9369/040301) OS:1000
and map N/A 810.1907

I ended up formating my internal drive and then restoring backup with explorer.
everything is fine now.

I have the 8.15 N/A & C/W EU saved to a file on my computer .

When TT get the bugs worked out of the App & or Maps
I will reinstall

Thanks again
Gary

You could put the new app and map on an SD card, insert the card and the device will boot using the card and the newer application, remove the card and the device will boot from the Flash memory - very handy when comparing different versions of software - Mike
